Why is wellness important to individual mental health?

Prioritizing individual wellness is especially beneficial for those of us who struggle with anxiety and mood disorders, addiction issues, and environmental stressors. Reputable drug and alcohol treatment programs promote physical, mental, and spiritual health so clients can avoid negative thinking, speech, and behaviors. A focus on individual wellness can ward off destructive patterns that complicate and contribute to mental illness.

What does my individual wellness have to do with my relationships and/or parenting?

Your energy impacts the energy of those around you. Tending to our own health and wellness encourages us to avoid codependent behaviors, allowing us to develop healthy boundaries. A focus on personal wellness reduces chances of exposing ourselves, or our children, to unnecessary trauma. It also gives us the opportunity to model wellness practices that our loved ones can incorporate into their own lives.

How does wellness relate to my finances?

In many ways! When we prioritize our individual wellness, we start to change how we spend our money. We avoid practices that negatively impact our financial situation in the present and we set goals for the future. We choose opportunities to invest in self-improvement while limiting our spending in other areas. We seek out opportunities for intellectual advancement: training programs, continuing our education,  expanding knowledge in our creative outlets...we are willing to spend money on our personal growth, and that changes everything.

How does wellness relate to culture, creativity, and spirituality?

There’s a positive relationship between mental wellness and cultural awareness, spirituality, and creativity! As we explore individual wellness, we are drawn to an inner connection to peace and purpose. Prioritizing our wellness often brings added perspectives on teachings from traditional religious and community organizations. Our show will encourage listeners to connect their inner beliefs to an overall sense of belonging to our environment, with a focus on the present moment....plus explore how our ancestry and culture play into our choices and sense of spiritual well being.

This all sounds helpful, but it seems like a lot!

As you all will learn, our hosts and guests bring experience and authenticity to each conversation. They speak from their life experiences and deliver the information in a way that is relatable.  Our guests will match the energy of our hosts with their own perspectives.
